Event Description

Wild Horse 200 – Wales

The Wild Horse 200 is one of the most iconic endurance tests in the United Kingdom: a 200-mile journey across the mountains and trails of South Wales. Runners traverse Offa’s Dyke, follow the Beacons Way, catch the Heart of Wales Line, and ultimately reach the dramatic finish line at Worm’s Head on the Gower Peninsula.

“ALL ULTRA RUNNERS ARE MENTALITY MONSTERS, THEY FIND A LIGHTHOUSE IN THE DARK AND RUN WITH IT.”
— Rhys Jenkins, Race Director

This is not about claiming “the toughest race in the world.” The Wild Horse 200 is a formidable challenge — but one designed to be possible. With the right mindset, strategy, and support, runners discover just how far they can go.

Athletes have 120 hours (five days) to complete the course, which includes more than 31,000 feet (9,450 m) of elevation gain. It is demanding, but the rewards are extraordinary: sweeping views from Glyndŵr’s Way, the rugged beauty of Offa’s Dyke tracing the Welsh–English border, rolling hills, ancient woodlands, and valleys rich with history and character.

The Wild Horse team is known for exceptional support. Runners benefit from well-stocked aid stations, designated sleep stations, a skilled medical crew, and live tracking for safety and engagement. Every finisher earns not only a unique buckle and race memorabilia, but also the unforgettable experience of running 200 miles through some of the UK’s most inspiring terrain.

The Wild Horse 200 is part of the One Hundred World Championship alliance, bringing together races of true character and authenticity from across the globe.
